Introduction of Computer

Introduction of Computer
The first fully electronic computers were introduced in 1940s. They were huge machines that required many people to operate. Since then, computers have undergone many changes in size and performance. And, a few decades later came the type of computers we use today – personal computers (PC). Today, PCs are all around us. From desktop computers to smart phones, they are changing the way we live our lives.
Thanks to the increase processing power, modular form factor, and vastly improved user experience, computers are being used by everyone, everywhere.
Moreover, many electronic devices are increasingly using embedded computing; such devices are known as embedded computing systems or embedded computers, or embedded computers, for example, a washing machine, ATM, video game console, and so on. Essentially, embedded computing is the use of a programmable computer in a device that is not a general-purpose computer itself.
In this session, you will learn about a computer and its various types. Next, you will learn about various components that make up a computer/PC. Toward the end, you will learn about computer case form factors and input/output (I/O) devices.

Let’s begin the session

Defining a Computer
A computer is a programmable electronic device that accepts raw data and processes the data into useful information. It usually consists of a microprocessor that does all the processing (such as arithmetic and logical operations). The computer is controlled by instructions in its memory, or the instructions given by a user, and mainly performs four basic operations: input, processing, output, and storage.
The computer consists of software and hardware. Software is the sets of instructions that run the computer by telling the hardware what to do, whereas the hardware is any physical part of the computer. Hardware can by further categorized into input devices such as keyboard or mouse, processing device s such as the central processing unit (CPU), and output devices such as a display screen (monitor) or printer.
Today, a computer is designed to be general-purpose, and to be used by a single person at a time, and it is appropriately called a personal computer or PC. This can by a desktop computer or a laptop computer (more portable). A PC comes in many other shapes and sizes as well, such as mobile phones, tablets, and game consoles. It is a user-friendly device that is used at homes, offices, banks, and everywhere else for various purposes related to education, work, and entertainment.

Tomorrow topic is Types of Computers.
